As a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital, we offer all routine services to care for your pets, including surgery, medical care,
vaccinations, glaucoma screenings, IDEXX-CR 140 digital radiography, electrocardiography (ECG), in-house laboratory testing,
and a full pharmacy. In addition, we offer a variety of advanced services unique to this area.
Laser Surgery
We are pleased to offer laser surgery as an exciting new option for safe, comfortable treatment. The laser can replace the scalpel and provide a better alternative to traditional surgery. Benefits to laser surgery include: less pain, less bleeding, less swelling, reduced risk of infection, improved healing, and a quick return to normal activity. Ask if your pet²s procedure can be done with a laser.

Video Vetscope
We are also pleased to offer Video Vetscope, a hand held video camera which
allows us to visualize and show you various hard to see body cavities on your pet,
such as the ear canals and mouth. Color images can be stored on our computers
as part of your pet's medical record and printed as a keepsake for you to take
home and share with friends and family.
Ultrasound Imaging
Ultrasound imaging allows our doctors to visualize internal structures and organs
which are unable to be imaged or are difficult to image with traditional x-rays. It
also allows us see inside organs such as the liver, kidneys, heart, etc. in order to
precisely evaluate patients with possible conditions affecting these organs. Most
importantly, the ultrasound is non-invasive (i.e. it may help prevent surgery in
some instances by allowing us to collect information that might otherwise only be
obtainable through surgical methods).
Anesthesia and Advanced Pain Management
At PetDocks Veterinary Hospital, we are proud to announce that we employ and
follow the guidelines defined by the American College of Veterinary
Anesthesiologist for appropriate monitoring of anesthetized veterinary patients.
We also abide by the same organization's guidelines and position on the
treatment of pain in veterinary patients.
Our pain relief protocols are complete and multi-modal (meaning we address
surgical as well as other sources of pain at multiple levels) in order to provide the
best and most comprehensive pain management possible. Although our pain
management protocols are proactive, they are very safe. In fact, patients that
receive inadequate pain management often have more complications following
surgery and have longer recovery and healing times.
Senior Pet Wellness
We offer a Senior Wellness Plan for pets 7 year and older. This plan implements proactive blood and urine testing for the
purpose of detecting subtle and subclinical problems early enough to enable effective treatment, thereby extending the life and
improving the quality of life for your older dog or cat.
Senior Wellness Guidelines from the American Aminal Hospital Association (AAHA) - The AAHA Senior Care Guidelines were
developed by a task force composed of seven expert veterinarians, representing a broad range of specialty fields. AAHA
released the AAHA Senior Care Guidelines for Dogs and Cats in March 2005, to provide a framework for practitioners dedicated
to enhancing the well-being of senior pets http://www.healthypet.com/library_view.aspx?ID=141
